Released from rehabilitation Ezhil who came eagerly to live happily with her family is a former Porazhi ( member of LTTE), who had lost both her hands in war.
Currently she is living with her mother Kamali and the family of Kavitha, her married sister. Kavitha never respected Ezhil. She view Ezhil as a burden. At the same time, the society also view ezhil with varying attitudes.
whatever the views of others about her, Ezhil is very careful in establishing herself as a girl with self confidence.
Dyring an incident Kavitha treats Ezhil in a lowly manner. Seeing this , their mother unable bear this situation she looks at Ezhil and with distressed heart she says to Ezhil, “ you should have died when your hands were lost”. This heavily hurt Ezhil.
The theme of this story is that we all should respect former Porazhis who had fought for the Tamil Nation.
