Gargano fairy tale

The documentary intends to investigate the theme of the fairy tale starting from an interview with Laura Marchetti, anthropologist and scientific coordinator of the project "The streets of the fairy tale", which outlines the essential characteristics of the traditional fairy tale of the Gargano territory, with a particular reflection on the places of the fairy tale and on the peculiarities of the typically Mediterranean heroes, defined as "trickster": not strong heroes, often weak, characterized by cunningness. As a guiding thread, the narration of a traditional Gargano fairy tale, "The parable of the chickpea": the story of a clever pilgrim who crosses the main centers and places of worship of the Gargano, making meetings and business, up to an unexpected ending. A selection of images from the Luce-Cinecittà Historical Archive acts as a glue to the narrative.
