Good student or bad student

English Documentary Social

This is a school for left-behind children and ethnic minorities in the rural Huacun Primary School in Hundred Provinces in Napo County on the Sino-Vietnamese border. Both the “good students” and “bad students” here are labelled by schools, teachers and parents. Just like in this society, “good” and “bad” are labels or symbols that are posted by others, and we should pay more attention to the independent thinking and spiritual characteristics of people themselves, and we will find that “good” and "Bad" is just a fuzzy boundary, which presents different characteristics in different soil environments.
At this stage, the problem of rural education in the Sino-Vietnamese border is not poverty, but closure, geographical, information, and emotional closure. Unlike mainstream forms such as donation and education support, can the unwavering "accompany" truly support and lighten the lives of one, a group, or even more rural children? The answer may or may not be.
Children in border villages not only live in the knowledge life constituted by teachers, classrooms, and books, but also live in the permeation of the social order and cultural heritage of the village all the time. The penetration of Internet media and various urban-centered foreign cultural values has impacted the original village cultural value and life order, the absence of middle-aged parents in the growth of village children, and the overall loss of the village cultural spirit, which will inevitably lead to the border The poverty of children's spiritual life. Coupled with the backwardness of border education itself and the blind xenophobia of the superstructure, it is simply not enough to actively respond to and eliminate this poverty. The result is the desertification of the spiritual life of village children. A large number of village teenagers do not like to read, hate it, and have lost a good feeling for reading. This is not just a question of reading, nor is it not just that individual children do not like to read because of family or intellectual reasons, but a question that involves the foundation of the lives of young people in the village. To be more serious, the spiritual foundation of their existence is shaking, or it has already been shaken.
