ZAFIRE Lessons of Diversity from Amazonia

7 women biologist and a team of local guides travelled from different parts of the world to the biological station El Zafire, in the middle of the Colombian Amazon.

The team had the mission to document individuals of the palm Geonoma macrostachys and its two contrasting morphotypes: G. m. acaulis and G. m. macrostachys

Zafire is territory of the Tikuna, Uitoto and Bora indigenous communities for whom vast territories of the Amazon are sacred. Zafire means the Gods home.

This documentary is a journey to the depths of the Amazon, where this group of women find a space not only to achieve their mission but to reflect on our behaviors towards our natural world.
