Film ‘Baang’ is shot in a Jammu & Kashmir’s picturesque village, the
the film is about a six-year-old boy ‘Jamal, depicting his life during
Covid-19 lockdown/
The film establishes the scenes of lockdown in the village by
visualizing close school, markets, temples, and masques, the lockdown
hampers Jamal's normal retinue and playing activities.
He keeps thinking about the tasteless festival of Eid-ul-Adha and
misses his father who is a front-line worrier (A doctor), who is not
going to come home on the eve of the holy festival.
Jamal recalls every moment and the fun he had on last Eid-ul-Adha
last year like people greeting each other, playing with friends and
verity of cuisines prepared at home.
Jamal think all this is happening because of Allah’s anger that is why
Allah closed the door to register good deeds promised for doing
sacrifice and charity on Eid. As soon as he starts to eat the dish, he
gets a glimpse of someone through the window curtain and he goes
close to the window to check out, who is out there.
He pulls the curtains so that the person outside would not be able to
look at his food and after a while looking into the eyes of his mother and
the plate disappears for the table.
