Somnambule

Somnambule” illustrates the main character's sleepwalking crisis, plagued by his senses in a universe lost between the supernatural and the raw reality of the contemporary world. The body and mind are separated, and shared between these two worlds. Like the character, the viewer himself finds himself suspended in space and time.

The mask in the story is essential in this dreamlike world. The character is in grip of his senses, he must use heat, cold, and humidity, that allows him to see while being blind. A mask specially designed by artist Mayuko Loeillot covers Maryus' eyes, emphasizing his strangeness, his shift in relation to the spaces through which he passes.
